Online memorials
What is an online memorial?
A page for someone who has died. It holds their story, their photographs, keepsakes such as a recording or a document, and the notes people leave. Anyone can visit it, and you can send the address to family and friends anywhere in the world.
What does it cost?
Creating a memorial is free, and so is publishing it. That includes 1 GB of space and the first three months online. After that, time is added a year at a time from $11.00USD, five years for $48.00USD, or $373.00USD to keep it online permanently. Extra space is $5.00USD a gigabyte.
Who pays to keep it online?
Anyone can. The family often pays for the first years, and visitors add time later. Paying needs no account, and we do not tell the family who paid unless the person says so themselves.
How long does a memorial stay online?
For as long as it has time paid for. We write to whoever looks after it before that time runs out. If it does run out, the memorial comes off the public pages but nothing is deleted, and adding time brings it back exactly as it was.
Who can add photographs and notes?
Whoever the family allows. When you make a memorial you choose whether visitors may add photographs, keepsakes, and notes, whether people without an account may add them, and whether you want to approve each one before it appears.
Can I change a memorial after it is published?
Yes. Sign in and open it at any time. Every change is live as soon as you save it.
Can I delete a memorial?
Yes. Deleting it removes the page, the photographs, the keepsakes, and the notes, and it cannot be undone. Nobody but the person who looks after the memorial can delete it.
Is a memorial private?
No. A published memorial is a public page, so that anyone who knew the person can find it. A memorial you have not published yet is visible only to you.

Your account
I made a Will here. Where is my account now?
PartingWishes Inc. now runs its Will, Power of Attorney, and Living Will services on its LegalWills websites, one for each country. Your account went with them, and your documents, your Keyholders®, and your sign-in details went with it. Find your website and we will take you there.
I am a Keyholder®. Where do I sign in?
At the LegalWills website that holds the member's documents. Keyholder® sign-in lists all five.
Do I need an account to visit a memorial?
No. Anyone can read a memorial and pay to keep it online. You need an account to make one, and usually to add a photograph or a note, unless the family has allowed guests to.
How do I close my account?
Sign in, open My profile, and choose Delete my account. It asks you to confirm, and it tells you what happens to any memorials you look after.

Why five websites instead of one?
A Will has to follow the law where you live. Each website is written for its own country's law, in its own currency and language, and is updated when that law changes. Choosing your country on our home page takes you to the right one.
Is my information safe?
Everything you type is encrypted before it is stored, and it is kept on servers in Canada. Our privacy statement says exactly what we hold and why, and security describes how we protect it.
