Junior was born April 16, 1939, in Flora, the son of Grover Thomas and Nadine M. Coclasure Brinkley. He married Mary Baka Stucker in 2001 in Springfield.



Junior was employed by the city of Springfield for 21 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of Teamsters Local 916. He also was co-owner with his nephew Jeff Brinkley of Brinkley's Garage in Springfield, Il.



Junior was a very well liked and known person. He had multiple abilities.

Personal Notes

My Uncle Junior was very special to me. He taught me alot. I owe my career to him. I considered my Uncle Junior as a second father. I will miss him so much. I think about him every day. I will go out and sit at the cemetery and just talk to him. I love him very much, and will always miss him.

I have been thinking alot of you lately. I miss talking to you. Every time I am working on a vehicle I think about you and wonder, What would Uncle Jr do. I love you and miss you so much.

Junior Brinkley was a very wonderful man. Although I am his great-niece, he was more like a father to me. He was actually the very first,not to mention only, man that treated me as a daughter. We miss him now, and forever. I am just glad that he no longer has to suffer. All my love, Chrissy

I miss my Brother more than anything in the World. He meant so much to me. I'll love and remember him all the rest of my life. He used to sit beside me, when we were little kids living with a foster family who was really mean to us. He was about 6 and I was about 3 years old. He would always tell me, "I'll always take care of you Genie. (That's what he called me when we were little kids)

I miss my grandpa so much, he ment so much to me. I loved him more than anything, he was more or less my hero. I think about him all the time. I am glad he is not suffering anymore,but I wish he was still here

i love my grandpa vary much and always will and miss him he is my idle i want to get into auto repair because of him and my dad i miss talking to him i wish he was stilll here but im glad that hes not in pain any more and hes with angel

I think about how much my grandpa used to love everybody i dont go a day without thinking of him he meant alot to me more thatn anything i just want him to know I think of him everyday

Uncle Junior,
I came to see you on your birthday. I sat and talk to you awhile. It is still very hard to deal with. I loved you soooo much. I need you help. But I will talk to you out there about it. There is not a day that goes by that I don't think of you. I love you and miss you so much Uncle Junior. Love always Jeff
