Jan was born February 7, 1954 in Pasadena CA Daughter of Harry and Helen Rummel.

Jan's mother Helen past just a couple months after Jan's birth leaving Harry to rasie two small girls Gail and Jan.

Time went on and Harry Met Dorthy a Single Mother of two boys Jim and Dan. They dated and eventually married,The family's were now joined. Gail and Jan now found themselves with a new mother as well as two older brothers. Jan was raised in a good home with people around her that loved her she was part of the all american family. Things seemed like they couldn't get any better, but they did Jan was about to become a big sister. The family welcomed Ralph the newest addition to the Rummel home and to Jan life was now complete.

In 1975 Jan joined the United States Air Force, This is where she met a man named Paul Grimes Jr. They dated, fell in love and on November 22, 1976 Paul and Jan welcomed their daughter Ponder Marie Grimes into the world.
A few years after Ponder's birth Paul and Jan realized that things were not working out and they divorced and went their seperate ways.

Jan provided Ponder with the best life she could. They didn't always have two pennies to rub together but they always had each other and one way or another they would see things through.

Jan and Ponder went through life knowing they could always count on each other, things were not always perfect and life through them for some loops, But whenever Jan and Ponder Faced things together, no matter how difficult it may have been, they seemed to pull through it together making them stronger in the end.

June 10,2002 Jan became a Grandmother to Mario Austin. Mario was the sparkle in Jan's eye. He was her little man and as he grew you would never she Jan without her boy. The were a team she called him her little worker man. Together they would be out side digging or cutting down a tree both in their Levis and flannel shirts.

Jan was a loving person, She loved her Family, Friends, and beautiful women. Jan had many close friends who were there for her when she needed them and she was always there when they needed her to. Jan's life was full of life and love beacuse she was surrounded by her family and friends thats what made her life so great. Jan may have been taken from us way to soon, but the memories of her and the way she lived life will remain with us forever

We Love and Miss you
