"RC", as he was affectionately called was born in Dothan, Al on March 31, 1929 to the late Quincy Jones-Leonard and the late Henry Jones. He was always an ambitious person and new that life had so much to offer him. He was educated in the Pansey, Al school system but received most of his knowledge through reading and conquering the many conquests of life.

On July 27, 1963 he married his soulmate, Leola Drayton. God blessed them with numerous joyful years of sharing, growing and caring. RC was a devoted husband and father. He spent his life loving and providing for them unconditionally. Hardwork was not unusual to him and found work at Union Carbide and Dresser Industries, where he was a foreman for several years. He later became the first blackman to manage Western New York's first Automatic Car Wash-Twin Car Wash, Kenmore, NY. He retired from N.F.T.A. in 1996 after more than 15 years of service. Politics was his passion and he served as Committeeman for Masten District. The Trinidad Neighborhood Assoc., where he was a faithful member, was his outlet to share his love of the community and to give to others.
During his younger days Dad spent much of his spare time venturing to the lake to fish. He also took great pride in his well manicured lawn that was often praised by many. You could often find him sitting in his favorite spot - the porch, admiring his work and waving to neighbors as they passed by.
RC adored his wife and children and spent countless time with them, exemplifying the true meanig of husband and father. The grandchildren soon became his focus and he'd often share his wisdom with them and continually loving, encouraging and helping mold their futures.
His legacy will live forever and his light will shine forever in the hearts of those who truly knew him and loved him.

Personal Notes

My love for you will never die, The thought of you still makes me cry. Everyday without you here, another day without you near, is a day I have now lost, a broken heart the ultimate cost. If I could have but one more day, to tell you all the things I meant to say. I'd tell you I'm sorry for all that I've done, and tell you how far I have come. Lift me up in your loving hand, see not my faults but understand, If I had another day those are just a few things I'd say!
