Dickie is the third of nine children born to Carl Alvin Goldstein and his wife Alma Jane Wilson. He attended Travis High School in Austin, Texas where he played baseball and basketball. Dickie loved dogs and fishing and spent a lot of time on the water. He retired from employment with the State of Texas as the Head Groundskeeper at the Capital several years ago.

Personal Notes

He is my brother of whom I have fond memories. I remember going to visit him and his little chihuahuas at his home on the banks of the Colorado River in Smithville. We spent hours just visiting and walking under the huge pecan trees with his "babies" playing at our feet.
I also remember sitting in the hall of St David's ICU waiting with the rest of the family for news of his survival. He made it against all odds and joined us for a few more years. We are glad for the extra time together.
