Joan Taylor gave cheerful support to friends, helpers, neighbours, and family. She almost graduated from secretarial school--but she got hired instead, that would've been June of 1927. Meanwhile she studied and eventually became a CGA. A fall, a bad back, ailing parents to look after, and eventually she worked from home, which became Grand Central Station for various and sundry of us acquaintances, through the last 40 years of her life. Friends or relatives in England and California kept in touch. A remarkable telephone and impromptu-visitor network kept in contact with Joan.
