This memorial is for my father, Walter McNeely.
He wasn't always there for the small things, but worked very hard to make the big things to come more manageable. He didn't always profess his love, but it was always there, and he showed it in abundance in other ways. He was old fashioned, and took care of all of us as best, or better than a father could. I didn't get to spend as much time with him as I would have liked....he wasn't very good at showing emotion, but that's OK, I have enough for both of us. He spent his life ensuring the well being and security of us, that is very commendable, and I do appreciate and love him for it. But,..I would give all of it for one chance to hold him close and say "I love you" as well as hear it back. The question of love is moot. It was always there, and will always be there. I love and will love my father forever. He is the greatest person I have ever met. Scared of love, yet so full of courage to take on life and all of its complications. Through life he maintained security and composure to which we all turned to now and again....in death he took on a simplicity, yet the same composure and stamina that made him a rock and a model for the dignity and respect that he so deserves.
I love my father very much.
I will always love you Dad, your son Michael
