We will miss you, Bill!! -Keisha

6 April 2005

We will miss you Vernon...you were the greatest and you will not be forgotten.

Michelle Brown, 6 April 2005

You will be missed! You made my four years of highschool a lot more memorable, Pioneer will never be the same with out you.

Michelle Hayden, 6 April 2005

While I may not know you personally, and was not blessed enough to work in the same building, the loss is greatly felt. I can tell by the wonderful memories everyone shares how much you were loved, respected, and will be missed. Lives you have touched will never be the same now that you are gone. Those who will never get the chance to know you will never realize just what they've missed. Your memory will always live through the halls of your school!

6 April 2005

It takes a special kind of teacher to be friends with the students as well as be an effective teacher. It takes someone with a great personality. It takes someone who cares. Someone who cares about the whole school, who never says no to voulteering time. That kind of teacher is few and far between. Mr. Vernon, Pioneer will NEVER be the same without you. You will never know how many lives you've touched or how much you will be missed.

Ashley Kennell, 6 April 2005

I will miss your sense of humor and smile!!!

6 April 2005

Bill touched so many student's lives. The stories they tell are priceless. This one of a kind guy will be sadly missed at Pioneer.

Judy Graham, 6 April 2005

Mr. Vernon.. I would have never passed accounting without you. You will be missed so much. Thanks for making high school great. Pioneer will not be as quick witted as is was when you were there. The hallways will never be the same without you. We will meet again someday. You are the most loved teacher around. You will be greatly missed

Carrie Roth class of 2003, 6 April 2005

We had so much fun together in Mock Trial together. I loved seeing you in that Hong Kong Green suit, and laughed when you changed your clothes in the middle of the street in Indianapolis. You always could make us laugh! We miss you and love you. You were a great guy who was full of life and taken from us much too soon!

Gabe Tribbett, 6 April 2005

I remember when we all got together at Bender's to play football and you brought Brownie, who nearly squashed me...that wasn't as much fun, but it was so cool to have a teacher to chill with us and interact with us like you did. Your love and compassion for your students far surpassed that of many who spend their lives in education. Your passion and zest for life were contagious, and I am thankful to have had the opportunity to know you and be in your presence!

Gabe Tribbett, 6 April 2005

I remember being in your business class-which you always made a blast- and you made us all pick the stupidest nicknames for ourselves. So some of us did and some didn't, but then you added a new rule. You said those who did not want to participate in this silly game you would not let them have the priviledge to talk for the rest of the semester. It was hilarious! I will never forget those great times and your awesome classes! And I KNOW that no one will EVER forget you!!

Krista Shepard, 6 April 2005

I just wanted to say that i looked up to Bill like a big brother. He put a Smile on my face at allt imes no matter what mood i was in he was always there. I will surely miss him alot and my family is feeling the samr way i am right now but he will be with us in spirit not physically. We all will miss him so much. Since i met him in the 7th grade i thought he was mean but then once i got to know him i thought he was a funny and a great guy and he always made me laugh whenever i needed a laugh.

misty spencer &family, 6 April 2005

You will most definetly be missed!!

Lindsay Holcomb, 6 April 2005

I could go on and on about Vernon...there are so many memories. There's no way i could ever forget them or you. Tailgating won't be the same with out you "Coach!" This next season is in honor of you. I'm glad your mom is having the after dinner tailgating with us. I know you would much rather like that then the church stuff!! Stay "lookin good" and take care big guy.

Brittany Nethercutt, 6 April 2005

One of my greatest memories of you: First one, seeing you duct taped to the wall. I can't think of any other teacher, that would have been so willing to hang on the wall during half time of a basketball game. You are so amazing. The great memories of you continue. And if there was a not so great memory, you had an "I'm sorry" letter already typed up to hand out to people. Which is HILARIOUS!!!! You definetly put a smile on my face everytime I saw you. We all love you soo much.

Nikki Delon, 6 April 2005

Bump,Set,Spike...well,u know the rest!cya again someday big guy.

Heather Russell, 6 April 2005

One more thing Vernon, I know my last note was probably annoying to you because abbreviations and weird spellings drove you nuts!! But it was hard to fit everything I wanted to say in one note without abbreviating.

Heather Russell, 6 April 2005

Thank you, Mr. Vernon, for all you have taught me. You made learning so much fun! Your valuable lessons will stay with me forever. You demonstrated to me the type of teacher you were when you gave up both your prep and lunch periods to help me with my chemistry presentation. Not many teachers would do that. I miss all our talks during 2nd period. My hair just hasn't been the same without you playing with it all the time. Miss and love you,
Lace
P.S.-"Vote for Pedro!"

Lacey Berkshire, 6 April 2005

I am going to miss you. I will work real hard
and get some hits for you this season.

"Great 8", 6 April 2005

Mr.Vernon was the greatest there was never a bad day in his class. He was a typical guy he had his moments when he wasn't in such a good mood but who doesn't! He always cheered people up when they needed it. It is so hard to except the fact that i will never see him standing in the hallway before 3rd period. But then i realized he is in a better place now. THERE IS MORE!!----

MMB, 6 April 2005

ok continuing from last on.....Iknow Vernon is helpong people right now and i no that he has made some friends! They always say don't be afraid of death be afraid of the unlived life u don't have to live forever u just have to live well he did he never took one single breath for granted...he might have left the earth and all the people in it but there is 1 place he will alway be and that is in our hearts..*forever*

Bill- you were a great guy who always made me laugh. your smile was contagious, and it shows by the way your friends and family are missing you right now. i will never forget all the times that we played baseball and basketball together. the world lost a great man on April 4, 2005.

6 April 2005

Vernon....you taught me so much and I never actually had you as a teacher. You always made me feel good about myself. I'll never forget all of our great memories. The nights we set aside while I was at Ancilla to counsel each other through our problems were the best. No one will ever be able to replace you. Thanks for always looking out for me. You'll be missed, but never forgotten. Oh ya...Peaceout (I just had to say it since you loved it so much)!

Sky, 6 April 2005

Rock on, Buicks!!

Keisha Magee, 7 April 2005

Vernon..I can't begin to tell you how much of an impact you had on my life. You always sensed when something was wrong and never hesitated to help no matter what that entailed. Thank you for always being there. I couldn't have asked for a better friend. I will cherish the memories and keep you in my heart forever!

Joanie, 7 April 2005

I don't think anybody understands how much he/she will be missed until he/she is really gone. I know losing Mr. Vernon at Pioneer has been huge. It affected everyone plus more in the community. But just think he is in so much of a better place than here. He will be greatly missed.

In all of the years that I have been in this school, I would have to say that you were the greatest teacher I had. You weren't just a teacher you were a friend. You will be missed by all of us here at Pioneer, the school day will NEVER be the same without your crazy stories and your comical oppinion on EVERYTHING. Our days will be very boring. Thanks for everything you taught me.

Stephanie Appleton, 7 April 2005

BILL OMG THEREIS SO MUCH TO SAY ABOUT HIM THAT I JUST DONT KNOW WHERE TO START. I KNOW THAT THERE HAVE BEEN MANY LIVES TOUCHED BY BILL. I KNOW THAT I MAY NOT HAVE THE BEST BUT I SO HAVE ONE, I WAS THE ONE THAT EVERYONE MADE FUN OF AND VERNON WOULD TELL THEM TO SHUT UP WHEN HE HERD THEM( he would make fun of you but he wouldn't really ket people talk to you the way he would ) THAT IS WHAT I LIKED MOST ABOUT BILL
BILL AND HIS FAMILY WILL ALWAYS BE IN MY HEART R*I*P

7 April 2005

I only had Mr. Vernon for a teacher for 3 months, but in that 3 months, I felt like I had known him for years. He knew exactly what to say
to make someone smile and feel better even when they were down. Even if he isn't her physically, his memory will live on in our hearts forever. Pioneer will never be the same without him. I love you Mr. Vernon!!!!! Thanks for all of the wonderful memories!!!!!

Mandy Kreighbaum, 7 April 2005

You are one of a kind--unique--special to us all and always in our hearts. You made our world a better place and we will miss you.

Beth Dean, 7 April 2005

Mr. Vernon I will never forget all of the smart comments you would make in class or in the hall about a lot of people. I took your advice for 2 of 3 things you told me not to do in college. I am still taking computer classes, thats the one thing I did that you told me not to do. I will always remember all the chats we had on MSN after I graduated. You will be missed "Big Guy"
Mr. Vernon's family and friends are in my prayers.

Drew Hollering, 7 April 2005

I don't really know how to start this out, but I wonder if you really knew how much you touched peoples lives, or how many? I loved how you were always real with us. You taught us far beyond the requirments, and that is what makes a great teacher! I loved every class that I had with you, I always looked forward to them. "86" and I love you very much, more than Frank.

Megan, 7 April 2005

Vernon, you always kept things fun and I'll never forget you. You've touched so many peoples' lives, including mine. You will be greatly missed. The rest of this year won't be fun without you. You would of loved all the people wearing green on thursday. We love you and your family is in our prayers. Someday we will meet again.

Tabitha Sayler, 7 April 2005

You were the funniest man i knew and knew exactly how and when to crack a joke or wisecrack, and you were never afraid to speak your mind and in my mind that makes you a very good person. You were also the greatest teacher i ever knew and probably will be forever, and i hope to see you again one day.

Cody Breedlove, 7 April 2005

What can you say about the one person who doesn't have enough adjectives in the dictionary to even start describing them. Mr. V., you're one loved fellar. On Monday, April 4th, 2005, at 11:20 in the morning, a part of everybody left this earth and went to another place. You will be missed, and remembered. Watch out for us. We need you. Thanks for being the teacher, friend, and supporter that I needed. You were there when I really needed you to be-and that is the best feeling in the world.

AH, 7 April 2005

I didn't know Mr. Vernon personally, but I had his dad as a teacher and it sounds like he took after him. He will be missed by so many.

7 April 2005

I had his dad as a teacher and it sounds like he took after him. My prayers go out to the family. May God be with you all. He will be greatly missed at Pioneer. God Bless

Denise Fickle & Family, 7 April 2005

to laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn appreciation of honest critics; to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.....This was Bill Vernon.

Steve Berkshire, 7 April 2005

Vernon's life was cut short; however if everyone could touch as many lives as he did, the world would truly be a better place. If every teacher made school as fun as he did, while still maintaining the respect of students, the schools would be a better place. The world lost a great man on 4/4, but the world is a better place because of him.

Ashley Raderstorf, 8 April 2005

We will all miss you, Vernon. Thanks for everything! You will always have a place in our hearts. We love you, Bill!
