George A. Caporale, Sr. — Age 69, of Revere, Mass, passed away peacefully on November 8, at Mass General Hospital with his family by his side. George was a life long resident of Revere, born on March 12, 1936, to Michael Caporale and Jennie Della Russo. George leaves behind his loving wife Carolyn L.(Iorio) Caporale, brother Michael, daughters Mary Catherine Benton of Maryland, Jacqueline Bates of New Hampshire, son Carl Caporale of New Hampshire, and the late Revere City Councilor George A. Caporale, Jr. and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. George was a retired lieutenant with the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department and owner of A.J. Scoops Ice Cream and Deli on Broadway Revere, which sponsored the annual Adopt-A-Grandparent program each Christmas that provided gifts to the residents of nursing homes in the area.
