Notes and messages

I will miss you very much Debbie. I watched as this disease took over your body, but not your mind, heart or soul. Your courage inspired me greatly - I know I could never have been nearly as hopeful and courageous as you were. I will see you again someday - until then, missing you terribly. Love Baby Sister Mary

Sister, Mary Burkhard, 13 November 2005

Debbie,
You are a rose, without any thorns. Taken from the bouquet of life in which you were adored. Is there no justice left in this world? You were taken from us far too soon. All of my love.

For Your First Birthday in Heaven, 11/22/05

Happy Birthday, Debbie!
I wonder what it's like--
First birthday in heaven--
It must be a sight!
With angels to sing to you:
"Happy Birthday, Dear Debbie"
and family and friends around you,
How happy you're sure to be.
Happy Birthday, dear Debbie
from down here below.
We all miss you badly,
and we still love you so.

Sister, Mary, 16 November 2005

Happy Birthday Debbie Doo! I sit here the night before your 41st birthday still not being able to believe that you are gone.
I know how much you went through during the last 2 1/2 years and that you are now no longer in pain but I selfishly wish you were still here with us.
I love you and miss you.

Sister, Lila, 21 November 2005

Happy First Thanksgiving in Heaven Debbie. We will all miss you today very much. It will not be the same without you.
Love, Baby Sister Mary

Dear Debbie, Tis the season for love and joy. You are definitely loved, but the joy is gone, for this season. You will never be forgotten and the memories will always be cherished. Until we meet again, my sweet friend, stay safe and watch over all of us.. MERRY CHRISTMAS to an Angel.

Dear Debbie,
This past weekend was the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. A tent was set up and Bill decorated it beautifully with flowers and statues and hanging baskets just like you always loved and named it "Debbie's Garden". It gave all of us a chance to get together and think about our loved ones we lost and those who survived. I stood there wondering why you couldn't have been one of the survivors and I cried. I love you...and I miss you.

Love, Mary, 12 June 2006
