I only knew Artie 16 months, but in that time I learned that he was the most generous, kind-hearted, loving father and loving soul mate in the world. Most important to Artie was his children. Next in line was his work. He loved his job driving tractor trailer. That was one of the favorite parts of his life and he died doing what he loved to do, driving his truck. Artie was very devoted to taking care of his physical health and thrived on walking every day he could. That was his ultimate high. He was always there for his childrens sporting events, practices, games, band or whatever it may be. You almost had to wonder how he did it all. Plus on top of that, he was always there for me and my son. I don't know what I'll do without this man in my life. He was such a positive influence. I will miss him so very dearly. God Bless You Artie,,,, Lori LEW

Artie Weitzel, Jr.
1/1/1960 - 12/18/2005

Happy Birthday
Happy New Year

The bitter grief that
first we felt
When God called
you away,
Has been sweetened
by anticipation
Of joining you that
Promised Day.

My husband Pete and I only knew Artie for a short time but could tell he was a very special person. He had the amazing ability to make you feel at ease and laugh and be yourself. He was a good man, gracious and giving. I know he and
Lori had a very deep and special love that will last forever. Thank you Artie for loving our friend Lori and making a difference in the many
lives you touched along the way.

On a long and lonesome highway
East of Omaha
You can listen to the engine
moanin' out his one note song
You can think about the woman
or the girl you knew the night before
But your thoughts will soon be wandering
the way they always do
When you're ridin' sixteen hours
and there's nothin' much to do
And you don't feel much like ridin',
you just wish the trip was through

Well you walk into a restaurant,
strung out from the road
And you feel the eyes upon you
as you're shakin' off the cold
You pretend it doesn't bother you

but you just want to explode
Most times you can't hear 'em talk,
other times you can
All the same old cliches,
"Is that a woman or a man?"
And you always seem outnumbered,
you don't dare make a stand
