Dee Dee Jameson, Mother, Educator, Friend. Though her resume was several pages long, she was not one to brag or boast. She practiced humility her whole life long. As a mother she taught her children to respect others, to be ethical and well-mannered. In professional life she was dedicated and hard-working, driven by her vision to cultivate and expand Early Childhood Education based on her philosophy. While her legacy in the field echoes in the halls of the university and college where she taught, no place rings more clear her powerful influence than the tiny preschool nestled in the hills of Vermont: The Saxon Hill School. This unique parent coop still practices the same tradition she established when she and lifelong friend, Willy Cochran, co-founded the school nearly half a century ago. Dee Dee's legacy lives on when a child is encouraged to think, discover, and investigate the wonders of our world.
