On May 25, 1942 was inducted into the Army. mr. and Mrs. John Tronagdr recieved a telegram Tuesday evening from the war department , with the news that their son, Staff Sergeant Clayton Trongard, 28, was seriously wounded on the Italian front May 31. Sergeant Trongard had been with the advance lines in the infantry in Italy in March. Was shipped to Africa in December 1943. Recieved a Purple Heart. Married March 23, 1946 to Edith M. Pue, together they raised 5 children. They had 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
