A native of Louisville, he was a retired pharmacist and owner of Shively Drugs and Otto Drugs. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a member of Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity, Knights of Columbus, Mon-signor Newman Council and St. Helen and St. Agnes Catholic churches, a 4th Degree member of Monsignor Bouchet Assembly and past president of the Jefferson County Academy of Pharmacy. He was preceded in death by two sons, Damian and Joseph, and a brother, Edward Kupper Jr. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, the former Ann Seibert; his children, Irvin Jr. (Pat), Laura Ecken (Tim), Mark (Sally), Nancy Bellis (Billy), Tom (Kay), Edward (Dee), Ann Thomas (John), Michael (Karol), Teresa Lutes (Steve) and Amy Holmes (Steve); his sisters, Rita Fisher, Dorothy Martin and Patsy Shaw; 30 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a great-niece Patty Shaw.
