Bernard ("Bernie") Bivin, slipped the surly bonds of earth, and entered the kingdom of Heaven at 2:03 pm, on Wednesday, October 20, 2004.
Bernie spent his working career as the Secretary Treasurer for Frantz Manufacturing Corporation in Sterling, Illinois. But Bernie did not work for himself alone, he was a tireless volunteer and participant with many local, national, and globally reaching charities. He was a past governor of Gyros International, a loyal member of the Jaycees, Moose, and Elk clubs, and was an incredibly devout Lutheran. He made known to the world he believe God first, man second!
Bernie possessed uncommon values, and old fashioned conservatism. He believed in the reward of one's labor, and the value of perspiration. He was a Veteran, and lived his sense of patriotism. He believed we were truly One Nation Under God, and valued the characteristics of civicism and honor. Bernie had a stinging wit, and a brilliant mind. He loved a good joke, and when he laughed, his soul would shake! His smile would light up a room, and his robust energy warmed the hearts of those he met in an instant.
He was a loving Brother, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, trusted friend, and loyal servant of our Lord. He was predeceased by his parents, and beautiful wife Janet. He is survived by Evan Bivin, Stanley Bivin, Marion Smith, Doris Morris, Sue McNinch, Karen and Terry Hanabarger, Kim Amisquita, Beth Adams, Janet and Chris Tester, and James, Elena, and Julian Hanabarger.
We pray together as one family that his rewards for a life well spent await him in the kingdom of Heaven.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in the name of Bernard Bivin to Christ Lutheran Church at 2911 Del Prado Boulevard, Cape Coral, FL 33904.
