Elena Benagale Escudero Azores of San Pablo City, Laguna died peacefully on December 21, 2004. She was born on February 16, 1917, two days after Valentine's day, an appropriate time for she was a real sweetheart, a gentle lady. Elena spent her early school days in a convent called Concordia College. She went to a progressive school for women, The Philippine Women's University, where she became a well rounded young woman learning about academics as well as languages, the arts, and sports; excelling in swimming and becoming a graceful ballet dancer.

She was a very devoted wife to Jose R. Azores and a mother who manifested unconditional love to her children.

She is survived by her children: Aida & Bobby Wilks; Jose "Popong" Jr. & Hedy Ambray Azores; Elmo & Tesa Hernandez Azores; Christina Azores; Nicholas & Gigi Villegas Azores; Sixto & Jon Ortiz Azores; and Ava Azores.

A caring and wonderful grandmother, she will be missed by her grandchildren: Bobby Sean, Ana Liza, Angel, Janus, Monique, Elmjon, Jemo, Nicole, Jessica, Scott, Sarah, Veronica, Ginelle, and Alana.

Elena is blessed with a special great granddaughter, Jasmin Pacifica, who came to meet her "Lala" and was such a comfort and joy till the end. And just as special are her granddaughters Raishel & Alisza. Also her great grandsons AJ, Christopher, Joshua, Zachary, and Aaron.

The late Elena Azores is also mourned and survived by dear nieces and nephews, friends and other relatives.
