Dixie was a early Christmas present for us. I called the humane society in our area and they were new and didn't have any pets for adoption yet. They did give me the phone number of a lady who had some pups she wanted to get rid of. I went to see them and that's where I found my sweet, sweet, baby Dixie "Pooh Bear" She loved the great outdoors and became my husbands best friend and fishing buddy. In the house was another story, she was my girl. She knew how to burn the candle at both ends. Her favorite game was playing frisbee. Then she found out she could get us to throw rocks deep into the woods and she would search until she found it. Sometimes she would sneak her rocks into the house. Then one evening she didn't want to get in bed with us, very unusual for her. We made her a bed on the floor and watched her throughout the night. Then the unthinkable thing happened, she went to sleep, never to awaken again. She is buried next to her daughter Scamp.
