Adan Merino is so desperately missed by his adoring family. He has left behind a loving Mom and Dad Luis and Sandra Merino, two admiring brothers Chris and Demian and a sister in law Rebecca. Adan leaves a loving Aunt Janet as well as two nephews who idiolized him. Adan recently received the blessing of a Neice into his life. Adan leaves behind his darling Son Santos as a gift to the world. Adan loved football, "he was a fearless player that was dedicated to giving a thrilling performance each time he stepped on the field. He made his first impact in his junior career in the 1995 season where he posted 58 defensive points and was named to the BCJFL allstar squad. But it was his final season that was his most memorable as he amassed 85 defensive points capped by 9 sacks in his bid to break the BCJFL record of 11. In total he accumulated 51 tackles, 33 assists, 18 sacks, 5 fumble recoveries and 2 batted balls for 203 defensive points in his 4 years with the Sharks. Merino's excitement for the game was reborn when he recently strapped on the pads to play in the Victoria Rebels' inaugural alumni game where his firey display of gridiron ettiquette reminded the football fans of Victoria why Adan was such a formidable force in the league. Our football family that was such a major part of his life will miss him dearly. Our sincerest condolences go out to his parents, brothers Chris and Demian, his young child and all the Victoria football alumni." -BCFC Adan is a treasure to the Merino family, the baby brother of three boys who possessed the kindest most generous disposition and a huge smile that would warm your heart. We love you Adan and miss you so very much.
