God has to break our hearts to prove to us that he only takes the best. I'll wear your memory proudly, My only brother...my true friend. May my love for you reach Heaven above Until we meet again.

Charming, caring, courageous, comical, creative are only a few words of many to describe my father/best friend. I've learned so much from you throughout life and will continue to learn from you as you will forever be in my heart and in my memories. I love you so much Dad and one day we will reunite. Love always Richie

Father, throughout the 28 years, 11 months and 3 days that I knew you on Earth, I've learned countless life-lessons from your wisdom. I appreciate everything I've ever learned from you, with one of my favorite lessons being acceptance of who I am, and allowing myself to just be "me". I will continue to apply everything you taught me throughout my life. I love you forever always, and will carry you in my heart. I miss you dearly and will see you in heaven when my time comes.

My husband, Richard, and I have an awesome relationship. I say "have" because our love is alive and will be forever. Through thick and thin, good times and bad, we always loved one another in the truest sense. I know that I am fortunate to have found that kind of love in my lifetime and I owe it all to my loving husband Richard.

Richard, You will always hold a piece of my heart. Great memories of your friendly smile and kind words. May your family and friends find PEACE in knowing the universe has taken you to a restful place. Loving thoughts of you always.

There are some people who have the genuine gift of making you feel that you're special. Richard was one of those people.

After almost 40 years, he still greeted me with a hug, a smile, and a twinkle in his eye. He always made me feel like part of his family, and I will truly miss him.

Until we meet again... goodbye old friend.

Wish heaven had a phone so I could hear your voice. I thought of you today but that is nothing new. I thought about you yesterday and days before that too. I think of you in silence, I often speak your name. All I have are memories and pictures in frames. Your memories are keepsakes from which I'll never part. God has you in his arms, I have you in my heart.

The role of an uncle…To me…
Like a father~Full of guidance,love & support
Like a brother~Fun,playful & protective
Always on my side
Teaching me…Jogging,cooking,&games
Always done in stride
Indeed,a man who knew the value of family,
And demonstrated that value everyday
The love & lessons he taught
They will never be forgot
So thoughtful, never to miss a birthday
Or holiday with a card or a call to say,
“Hello, how are you” or just “I love you”
Those selfless acts will be missed most of all
I said “See ya tomorrow”
But tomorrow doesn’t come
Like an endless math problem
There is no sum
I thought it was a game
You told me you were done
It will never be the same
I am thankful for our fun
Your days have ended
As mine still go
Even though I hope and pray
Never again,to you,will I be able to say…
As I can still see the smile on your face
You mean the world to me
Fun times and memories will never erase
I’ll make you proud, you'll see
I love you My Dear Uncle

A Wish and A Prayer.. May your spirit soar in freedom from the fears that gripped so tight may you find the peace you searched for as you wandered, lost, in the night. May your tortured mind be clear and calm and your tender heart be warm. May you have no need for strength now. May there never be another storm. May the music of the Angels be the sweet sound that you hear. As your rocked in Heavens' cradle, may you never shed another tear. I'll wear your memory proudly, My only Brother..my true Friend. May my Love for you reach Heaven above until we meet again.

In each loss there is a pain. As in every pain there is a loss. And with each ending comes a new beginning.

I see your name written in stone, can you see me now? I see your name written in stone And the names all around you, your not alone. Your spirit stays with me, I know that today. That's why I can now with confidence say I see your name written in stone And I take comfort in knowing, I'm never alone. We''l never forget you, till the day we die And join you in heaven, with God on high

Independence Day, a true american holiday, but for me it has always been your day. You are the "true american firecracker." Every year I can remember back you always wore red, white, & blue on all american holidays, and took great pride in doing so. Fourth of July has always been your favorite day in my eyes not only because of your birthday but because of the love for your country, family, and friends. You took great honor in having your birthday fall on July 4th. It was the one day out of the year that you would really like to splurge on fireworks and partying with your friends and family and overall just have a relaxing day with us. When I think of July 4th I see a man in his twenties enjoying the total atmosphere of the day and that man is you dad.
Happy Birthday and Happy 4th of July
Love always Richie

Your Brother is your first friend in life. No one will understand your crazy family like your Brother. Even if you don't get together or talk as much as you should, he will always remain your friend. Your Brother will hold your hand for awhile, But will hold your heart for a life time.

God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be. So he put his arms around you and whispered "come with me". With tearful eyes I watched you and saw you pass away, although I loved you dearly I knew you couldn't stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.

For all of us who still remember, just remember this:

Remembering the person I have loved allows me to slowly heal.
Healing does not mean I will forget. Actually, it means I will remember

Death leaves a heartache that no one can heal, Love leaves a memory that no one can steal.

Sometime God picks the flower that is still in full bloom: sometimes the rosebud's
chosen that we feel He's picked too soon.
Sometimes the flower is fading with petals floating down, but God knows the perfect
time to gather flowers from the ground.
There is a heavenly garden in which God takes great pleasure because He's placed
within it the loved ones that we treasure. He walks among the blossoms giving them
eternal rest, and I know that it must please Him because He chose my very best.

He was getting
old and paunchy
And his hair was falling fast,
And he sat around the Legion,
Telling stories of the past.
Of a war that he once fought in
And the deeds that he had done,In his exploits with his buddies;
They were heroes, every one.
And 'tho sometimes to his neighbors
His tales became a joke,
All his buddies listened quietly
For they knew whereof he spoke.
But we'll hear his tales no longer,
For old Richard has passed away,
And the world's a little poorer
For a Soldier died today.
He won’t be mourned by many,
Just his children and his wife.
For he lived an ordinary,
Very quiet sort of life.
He held a job and raised a family,
Going quietly on his way;
And the world won't note his passing,
'Tho a Soldier died today.
When politicians leave this earth,
Their bodies lie in state,
While thousands note their passing,
And proclaim that they were great.
Papers tell of their life stories
From the time that they were young
But the passing of a Soldier

Added by Rita Bawden

Goes unnoticed, and unsung.
Is the greatest contribution
To the welfare of our land,
Someone who breaks his promise
And cons his fellow man?
Or the ordinary fellow
Who in times of war and strife,
Goes off to serve his country
And offers up his life?
The politician's stipend
And the style in which he lives,
Are often disproportionate,
To the service that he gives.
While the ordinary Soldier,
Who offered up his all,
Is paid off with a medal
And perhaps a pension, small
It is not the politicians
With their compromise and ploys,
Who won for us the freedom
That our country now enjoys.
Should you find yourself in danger,
With your enemies at hand,
Would you really want some cop-out,
With his ever waffling stand?
Or would you want a Soldier--
His home, his country, his kin,
Just a common Soldier,
Who would fight until the end?

Added by Rita Bawden

He was just a common Soldier,
And his ranks are growing thin,
But his presence should remind us
We may need his like again.
For when countries are in conflict,
We find the Soldier's part
Is to clean up all the troubles
That the politicians start.
If we cannot do him honor
While he's here to hear the praise,
Then at least let's give him homage
At the ending of his days.
Perhaps just a simple headline
In the paper that might say:

"OUR COUNTRY IS IN MOURNING,

A SOLDIER DIED TODAY
