After 3+ courageous years, Myrna finally lost her battle with cancer. She spent her last days with her four children and their spouses; Diana & Randy Pierce, Dave and Sandi Winn, Bryan and Ann Winn, and Rhonda and Kent Boyd, caring for her round the clock in the home of her eldest daughter Diana, where she had lived out the last months of her life. She was dearly loved and is missed by all blessed enough to know her.

Myrna Kay Winn, beloved sister, mother and grandmother, died at her daughter’s home June 6, 2006 surrounded by her loving family. Myrna was born on October 21,1937 at St. Marys Hospital in Walla Walla and remained a lifelong resident. In 1963 she worked for Pacific Northwest Bell, and after 5 years became a stay at home Mom in order to raise her four children. In 1980 she went to work at Walla Walla Valley Medical. She then went to work at Clarretts Restaurant, where, for 9 years she welcomed customers that eventually blossomed into many friendships.

Myrna loved bowling and was very active at the local and state levels. Throughout her bowling career she enjoyed many personal successes. She has held all league offices including President, Treasurer and Director. She celebrated several honors including, being elected to the local Association Board of Directors, in which she is now a life member. She is a Hall of Fame member for Meritorious Service. She served for 16 years on the Washington Women’s Bowling Association as a State Board of Directors, in which she is a Member Emeritus. As well as bowling she also enjoyed crocheting and playing the piano. But most of all, she loved her family and took great pride in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her most favorite events were holidays, birthdays and celebrations where the whole family came together – at times that meant 30 plus family members gathering for a meal.

Myrna battled cancer courageously with the gracious help of her family, many special friends, doctors and hospice. Through their love, prayers and devotion to her, she was able to remain in her earthly home until the Lord took her to be with Him. Even through the toughest of her battle, she worked very hard to keep her spirits up and remain active and she enjoyed life. She was a very generous woman and loved to help other people. people would comment on how beautiful she She was a beautiful woman who kept her appearance up even at the worst of her disease. s such throughout her battle. Throughout her whole life she has been known to keep her hair, make up and nails impeccable.

Myrna is survived by her Husband, Ronald Winn of Walla Walla. Her Brother and Sister-in-Law, Bruce and Norma Zier and their children Sherry Orchard and Family and Wayne Zier and Family of Walla Walla. A half Brother, Dale Liberty of Camby Or. Her Four children, Diana and Randy Pierce of Walla Walla, Dave and Sandi Winn of Richland, Bryan and Ann Winn of Walla Walla, and Rhonda and Kent Boyd of Walla Walla. She is also survived by Thirteen Grandchildren Amanda and Alex Ewoniuk, Ryan and Samantha Pierce, J.D., Shannon, Hannah and Logan Winn, Erin and Steven Gilbert, Hayden Winn and Paige and Sydney Boyd. She was also blessed with 4 Great-Grandchildren, Lilli and Lauren Ewoniuk, Bailey Pierce and Audree Gilbert. Other Survivors include her niece, Koralee Jones, and nephew Robert Blue. Her Greatest dream was to go to the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville Tn. Her dream came true in the fall of 2003, thanks to her Niece Koralee Jones and Daughter Diana. She was preceeded in death by her parents David and Ida Marie Zier, her Sister Beverly Jean Blue and her nephew Tommy Jones.
