I want to dedicate this page to my Mama, Louise Evans Nobles, not only my mother but my best friend and hero.

My Mama is now a very special angel, just an added legacy to her life here on earth. During her 51 short years here, she touched many lives and many hearts. Although Mama faced many challenges and many heartaches during her life, she still managed to be the warmest, most caring person I know. She had the biggest, most welcoming heart.

When I was a little girl, my Mama was always there for me, no matter how hard or how tough the times got. She raised me as a single parent for the most part. I remember her working 2 or 3 jobs to make ends meet and it never slowed her down. She always had time for me.

When I was a teenager, she was the one I could always turn too. She may not have agreed with me on everything, but she always listened and gave me the benefit of the doubt. Many times she would say to me, "I don't agree with you but I raised you right and I have to let you make your own decisions now." She taught me how to grow up, be independant and make it on my own. The one thing she always stressed to me was the importance of my education and the need to be able to take care of myself in this world. Thanks to my Mama and her support, I did go on to college to become a Registered Nurse. She always wanted more for me than she had in life.

I also have a brother who is 16 years younger than me. During the time our Mama passed away, he was about to begin his sophomore year at NCSU. Mama did the same thing with him, taught him to be a man, be independant and the importance of his education. She worked so hard and stretched every dime as far as she could so that he could have the things he needed and go to college. She was so very proud of him and his accomplishments. Just knowing that her son was accepted and making it at NCSU brought her more joy than you could ever imagine. Mama would be so proud if she could be here and see what a wonderful young man he has become and how hard he is striving to make her dreams for him come true.

The last few years of her life were difficult. She was battling COPD and chronic pain from DJD. Although she had good days, she also had bad days. But yet, she was still always warm and welcoming to everybody she came in contact with. Mama was always trying to help someone else. Her sister died 3 months before her with cancer. Mama spent the last few months of her sisters life, taking care of her when she was barely able to care for herself. That was just the type of person she was. She pushed herself to do what was in her heart--to help someone else.

Mama was sick for several weeks with pneumonia that finally landed her in the hospital. We thought it was just another battle and she would be well soon. Were we ever wrong? Her sickness progressed rapidly and she got worse quickly. After 4 days, she ended up in CCU and 2 days later, she was on the ventilator. Many prayers went up for her but God felt it was time for her to come to him. Two days later, exactly a week after she was hospitalized, my Mama passed away. An Angel on earth and now, an Angel in heaven.

My Mama was a very special person, loved by many. My heart is broken but I am thankful that she is a blessed Angel in Heaven. No more pain or sorrow.
