TO MY LITTLE, TOOOOO, BABY, HONEY-BUNNY, GOOD-BOY BEAR
MY TYPICAL DAYS STARTED AT ABOUT 6:30 AM WHEN SHERREL WOULD WAKE UP AND FIND ME EITHER IN THE HALL JUST OUTSIDE THE BEDROOM DOOR, ON THE FLOOR BESIDE PINO, DOWN BY THE FRONT DOOR OR OFTEN CUDDLED UP ON THE SPARE BED. AFTER SHE CAME TO SAY GOOD MORNING AND RUB ME I USUALLY WOULD GO TO LAY DOWN BESIDE PINO IN HER SPOT UNTIL SHE WAS FINISHED SHOWERING AND GETTING READY SO SHE COULD TAKE ME OUTSIDE, USUALLY BY 7:30. MY DAYS INCLUDED CHASING “CHIPPIES” AND “THE BIRDS”; LOVE BITES AND REALLY LONG SLOPPY KISSES FOR PINO IN BED IN THE MORNING; JUMPING INTO SHERREL’S SPOT IN BED; GOING OUT TO SNIFF AND DO MY DUTY; PLAYING GOLF IN THE SUMMER OR CATCHING SNOW IN THE WINTER; WAITING ON THE BED FOR PINO TO GET READY FOR WORK AND GETTING ATLEAST 2 TREATS BEFORE HE WENT TO WORK; SLEEPING ON THE COUCH OR THEIR BED IN THE MORNING AND WAITING BY THE WINDOW ; MY MOMMY SHERREL DRIVING 15 MINUTES HOME EVERYDAY FOR LUNCH AND FINDING ME OFTEN LAYING ON THE BED OR COUCH, BECAUSE I KNEW IT WAS HER, AND I’D GO CRAZY FOR HER AND WAG MY TAIL AS HARD AS I COULD; SHERREL FEEDING AND PLAYING WITH ME AND GIVING ME “RUB-ON-THE-BED”; NEVER MISSING A DAILY HOUR-LONG WALK IN THE YARD, GUS WUORI ROAD, INNOVA PARK, THE CASCADES, OR THE MARINA WHERE MANY HOURS WERE SPENT IN THE WATER – FREEZING COLD OR NOT. AFTER WORK ALWAYS MEANT ANXIOUS ANTICIPATION, “BIG-JUMP” OUT THE DECK DOOR TO GREET PINO, “RUB” ON THE BED OR COUCH AND MY NIGHTLY OFF-LEASH WALKS. A PICKY EATER I OFTEN ATE THE GOOD-STUFF MIXED IN MY FOOD AND LEFT THE REST. THEN I WOULD GO DOWNSTAIRS AND TOUCH THEM TO SAY THANK YOU AFTER EVERY MEAL. THEN I RELAXED AND WATCHED TV WITH THEM AND PLAYED BALL, CHASE, AND HIDE-AND-SEEK AND TOOK NAPS AND THEY WOULD LAUGH AT HOW VOCAL I WOULD BE AND HOW MY LEGS WOULD SOMETIMES RUN AS I HAD GOOD DREAMS . BED-TIME MEANT GOING OUTSIDE; COMING IN AND SLURPING NOISILY A BUNCH OF WATER; LAYING WITH SHERREL UNTIL PINO CAME TO BED; GETTING “GOOD-LOVING” AND MY TREATS—WHICH STARTED AT ONE WHEN I WAS REALLY YOUNG AND I GOT THEM UP TO FOUR; AND STAYING ON THE BED UNTIL THE LIGHTS WENT OUT; I WOULD THEN JUMP OFF THE BED AND GROAN AS I LAY ON THE FLOOR . NIGHT TIMES OFTEN HAD A COUPLE NUDGES FOR SHERREL TO TAKE ME OUT IF I WAS TOO HOT OR JUST WANTED/NEEDED TO GO OUT AND NUDGES FOR PINO ONLY IF SHERREL WOULDN’T TAKE ME---SO HE COULD TELL HER TO.
