Mrs. Cheryl Ann Watson was born November 25, 1961, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Alonzo Watson and Margery Ranson. Cheryl was born as the second of three children.
Cheryl was baptized in accordance with the rites of the Roman Catholic Church at Holy Ghost Catholic Church and she attended public schools. She attended Pershing High School and was aprt of the cheerleading squad. As a teenager she had a host of jobs. She graduated from Ketterling High in 1979.
Cheryl loved to help people, so she started working at Harper Hospital. While she was at Harper she took classes at Wayne State Medical School, where she got her EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) Certification. After working for Haprer for several years, she met and fell in love with Anthony jelks. They later married on July 11, 1987, where she became Cheryl Ann Watson Jelks, or better known as "C.J." to her family and friends. Cheryl and Anthony moved to Indianapolis, Indiana to start their family. They had two children, Brittany Rae, and Brandon Leonard.
Cheryl was a long time member of The Light of the World Christian Church. While living here in Indianapolis, she found the love of art, and became a licensed nail technician and seamstress. Cheryl had a host of customers and she was creative in designing dresses for wedding parties. Cheryl loved to fish and she spent many hours on the water in both Indiana and Michigan. Traveling was also a big part of Cheryl's life. She loved seeing new places. She shared many family vacations in Hawaii, Cancun, and the Caribbean, but her favorite hot spot was Florida, where she could fish off the coast. She fulfilled one of her greatest passions when she went deep sea fishing in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
Mrs. Cheryl Ann "C.J." Watson Jelks departed this life on Tuesday, June 6, 2006 at the age of 44 years, 6 months and 11 days.
