Ruth Mae Turner peacefully passed away Monday evening in her Lake Havasu City home. She resided in Lake Havasu City approximately 10 years. Before coming to Lake Havasu, she lived in Chino, Calif., and surrounding areas for most of her adult life. In their Chino home, she and her husband raised five children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Hensley Turner in 1986.
She was a life long employee of Owens Brockway Glass Company, where she worked for 40 plus years, at the Pomona, Calif., plant. She served as a Union President for local No. 34 for a multitude of years. Ruth was also part of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Pomona Aerie No. 2215 and also was past madam president of her chapter.
For the past four years, after breaking her hip and staying at Havasu Nursing
Home for a short time, she became a volunteer and organized the Saturday
bingo for all of the residents that wanted to participate.
She is survived by four daughters, Cathy Vallejo, of Lake Havasu City, Mary Turner, of Chino, Calif., Debra (JR) Miller, of Las Vegas, Nev., Linda (William) Parkins, of Lake Havasu City; one son, Patrick (Patricia) Turner, of New Jersey; six grandchildren, Christy Turner, Stephen White, Angie (Brock) Spillane ,
Christopher Parkins, Pearl Vallejo, Heather Parkins and five great-grandchildren.
Ruth was a member of Gods Grace Church in Lake Havasu City. She will be greatly missed by all that she touched. Services were held Sunday at 10 a.m., at God’s Grace Church, 1535 El Camino. A visitation was also held on Sunday
from 3 4:30 p.m., at Lietz-Fraze Chapel.
