Army Spc.Frances M.Vega was killed November 2,2003 when the chinook carrying her to R&R leave went down due to enemy fire. 

Her records with the Army show that she was born in San Francisco, but she listed Fort Buchanan,Puerto Rico as her permanent adress.

Vega,joined the Army November 14,2001 and was assigned to the 151st AG (Postal) Company Det3,based at Fort Hood,Texas
in May of 2002.

She was buried in Bayamon's National Cemetary where she received full military honors. She was posthmously awarded a Bronze star and Purpel heart.

Vega had close ties to the Military being that her father was in the service,and she was married to an enlisted soldier,the names of her parents and husband are not being released.
