WILL BE REMEMBERED FOR HER LAUGHTER,SMILE,& HER GENTLE WAY
In October 03 she started to become ill.It wasn't until December 17 03 that we found out that she had fluid on her lungs and that her heart was enlarged. She remained in the hospital until December 23rd and a defibrillator was installed in her heart and chest, just before she returned home for Christmas. She then was diagnosed with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. She was back in the hospital numerous times in Feburary, March and April.
In mid-April, she went into cardiac arrest while she was in the emergency room, and was rescusitated after over an hour of CPR, without any permanent damage.
She went to Stanford University Hospital in April to see a Cardiologist who specialized in heart transplants and came home to begin a very strict low sodium diet and seemed to be doing much better.
May 23 2004- She had called and said " My pacemaker just went off and I think it is going to go off again, I feel like I am going to pass out" My mom told her to go home and we would meet her there. Not even 5 minuets later she called back and said " It keeps going off" So my mom told her "Tell morgan to take you to the emergency room we will meet you there". Morgan then called and said " She is not breathing I have already called 911 and they are on their way".
My Mom, Aunt Kathy , Grandma and I all went to the hospital we waited for what seemed like forever but really was only about 15 minuets. When they arrived at the ER they were still working on her( she had been down 8 mins before they arrived at the scene) and into the ER she went. They transfred her that night to CICU.
May 24 2004- I had been up at the hospital all day long, around 8pm I went home. At 9:30 my Aunt Kathy called and said " You need to get up here right now." I then jumped in my car and headed for the hospital which was about 10 mins away, the whole way there I prayed" PLEASE GOD NO NO NO LET HER BE ALL RIGHT" when I arrived at the hospital everyone was there or on their way, I saw my mom and asked her" WHAT, WHATS WRONG? WHAT HAPPENED" she said " They have done the test and there is no brain activity, she is brain dead". All I remember is dropping to the floor crying hesterically and my dad getting me up and helping me to the chair. That night was horrible I couldn't sleep, couldnt stop crying and to think tomorrow isnt going to be different.
May 25 2004- When I got up that morning to get ready to go back to the hospital I couldn't do anything but cry.
She passed away peacefully at 10:30am.
I dont remember much after that its all pretty much a blur, I was still in shock from the night before and now more horrible news. I was numb , in disbelieve that my little sister was gone.
The next few days was the hardest thing for my parents, my 2 older brothers and I , We now had to plan for her funeral, which was as beautiful as her.
Its been almost 2 months now since she passed away and everyday is a struggle but I know she is now free of pain. She is having a wonderful time telling grandma and popo all that has gone on since they have been gone.
