Travis Edward Genge was born in Austin, Texas in 1964 to Alex and Sandra Genge. He grew up in a very close knit family with his sister Isabelle and brother Tyler. Travis graduated with honors from Austin State High School then went on to enroll at the University of Texas A&M (College Station) where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Honors). He furthered his education by obtaining his MBA at Brown's University. Travis started his working career as a business manager with Cobb's Construction in Llano, Texas before taking a position with Pfizer in Austin, Texas. Three years later he transferred to the beautiful province of Nova Scotia in eastern Canada. Travis' life was further enriched in 1999 by the birth of his little princess Alexandra (Lexie) whom he cherished and adored.
On September 23rd, a tragic accident took the life of not only Travis, but also of both of his parents. Travis had taken his parents out to dinner as it was just days before he was to travel back to Canada after an extended visit to Texas. Travis died as he lived... surrounded by people who loved him.
Special thank yous go out to Travis' best friend Delaney Caine for taking care of all of the arrangements and for acting on behalf of the family during this tragic time, the Canning family, the Miquel family and all of the medial staff of the Brackenridge Hospital. Thank you to other family friends including Froylan Garcia, Dorothy Bromwell, Alastair Finn, Stephen Brown, Terry Castillo, the Pfizer Team and the entire faculty at Texas A&M. Also special long-distance mention goes out to Susan Tanner in Nova Scotia who succeeded in bringing a twinkle to Travis' eye that we will never forget. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Through his work, Travis touched the lives of so many people, too many to list here but you know who you are.
Travis was an incredible father, son, brother, uncle and best friend and he will be truly, truly missed.
Travis leaves behind his sweet baby girl Lexie, sister Isabelle (husband Stratford and daughters Morgan and Marley), brother Tyler (wife Ava and son Ryan), grandparents Edward and Ida Genge and Norman and Sophia Wencrest, aunts and uncles Gwynn and Steve, Norma and Joe, Merle and David, Tola and Edward, numerous cousins and other extended family members.
A life cut too short, but filled with so many memories... rest in peace Travis.
